Thornford Village Hall

Built in 1998, Thornford's Village Hall is a beautifully positioned, modern hall just 3 miles outside of Sherborne town. It is set back from the main road facing gently rolling Dorset hills.
In 2002, to commemorate the Queen's Golden Jubilee, an impressive steel gateway arch was added at the entrance to the grounds to further enhance the area and building. There is an ample size car park for around 20-25 cars and has disabled access & toilets. The hall is a focus of the community and is used extensively by the villagers for their clubs, societies and meetings, as well as the annual Horticultural Show.

The spacious Hall will seat around 100 to 120 people (approx.size 15m x 10m).
It is light and airy and has two sets of double doors leading outside onto different aspects where there are patio areas for sitting.
There is a small pullout platform stage, and also a second serving hatch leading to the Committee Room.
The Committee Room can seat approx. 8 to 10 people in comfort (approx.size 3.5m x 3.5m ) and is available to hire on its own, as well as with the kitchen and hall as a whole package.

The Hall has Wi-Fi installed for hirers to use.

The Kitchen (approx. size 6m x 5m) has modern equipment installed; a double oven range cooker with extractor fan, two fridges, a freezer, a microwave and a domestic sized dishwasher.
There is plenty of work space for preparation, and it has a large serving hatch into the hall. It is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, glasses, kettles, pots/pans etc., catering for nearly everything you may need.

The Hall is available for private hire and we endeavour to keep our rates as reasonable as possible.
